Now I am probably stuck with an MDI (not a 2) with no WiFi when I paid for an MDI2 with WiFi. The seller,, told me that THEIR MDI2 needs to use the MDI driver (what does that mean?) and absolutely refuses to believe me that the WiFi was not added to the device despite sending them photos of the open hole where the WiFi hardware should be. So then I tried to enable the WiFi, which was supposed to be included in my order, NOPE. The GM MDI Manager and TechConnect thinks it's an MDI. When I connected to it and tried to install the firmware, it was not recognized as an MDI2. I received the unit yesterday and today I got all of the TechConnect and MDI software loaded and accessed the device. Granted, I paid $185 for it supposedly including WiFi, but at this point, I would have gladly paid more to buy it on Amazon so I could easily return it no questions asked.
Thought I'd share my experience with a direct Chinese vendor who sold me a supposed MDI2 with WiFi.
